Valentine’s Day….in our nation’s capital

Mark took me to this dreamy restaurant…Two Quail. It’s on Capitol Hill. It was quite rommantic. Billie Holiday and other torch singers lulled you into this cozy restaurant….something out of the 1940’s. Victorian-like wall coverings, beaded Tiffany-like lamps, excellent and discrete service. We had a late dinner and we closed out the restuarant…

Plus the V-day meal turned out to be cheaper than what Mark anticpated…so yeah.

I had a bunch of lobster dishes….like this lobster bisque. It had bits of lobster meat - a hearty cream soup that didn’t kick your palate down. A great starter. For my entree - I went with the two lobster tails…dripping butter…fresh veggies. It felt like I bit into something decadent and healthy.

We took the dinner at a leisurely pace…something I’m not used to. It felt good - we talked about politics, religion, wine and more wine….I know I gave up booze for Lent - but Mark planned this night way in advance - so I told him I’d make an exception to my personal prohibition.

I love my honey :)
